RE/MAX was created in 1973 by Dave and Gail Liniger, two top producers who felt there was a better way to develop a real estate business. Their theory was quite simple: RE/MAX agents would share in the cost of operating a real estate office, allow for a very conservative broker profit and then the associates would retain as much of the commission on the sale of real estate as possible.

The Linigers were considered “crazy” at the time… it would never work… they would be outcasts within the real estate industry. Thirty-one years later, RE/MAX has become the world’s largest real estate company and Dave and Gail Liniger are still the owners. RE/MAX Signature Properties was founded in December 2003. RE/MAX Signature Properties moved to its permanent location near Concord Mills Mall in February 2006. Look for the RE/MAX balloons on the two-story office building located near five hotels. It is anticipated that given the growth of the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association, the office will eventually accommodate upwards of 30 RE/MAX Associates.
